😀 Positive Psychology: Wellbeing 🧠
What are the psychological and social factors that contribute to well-being and happiness? How do people cope with adversity and stress, and how can they develop resilience?
in positive psychology you will:
Learn what psychological science says about what matters—and what doesn’t—for our wellbeing
Learn strategies to increase your everyday wellbeing & emotional resilience that you can use immediately—and for the rest of your life
Gain more control over how you feel
Test out or demonstrate an interest in psychology in a way that’s legible to colleges
How It’s Structured
In the first week, you’ll learn about wellbeing from three perspectives: how practices you engage in affect your wellbeing, how resources like time & money affect your wellbeing, and how what you do with your body affects your wellbeing
Throughout, you’ll be introduced to practices that contribute to wellbeing—as well as learn about popular self-care practices that aren’t effective
In the second week, you’ll learn about obstacles to wellbeing like cognitive distortions and learn strategies to build resilience
On the final day, you’ll synthesize your learning across the two weeks, and you’ll have a chance to share your project
For your project, you will craft a plan to recommend or make concrete actions of your choice to enhance wellbeing in a community or organization you belong to
Top projects are designated as ⭐starred projects ⭐, a designation students can add to their resumes and may lead to their projects being features on our website
